Dartmouth cancer researchers at Norris Cotton Cancer Center found a means of causing the elimination of a protein that maintains cancer cell viability; the results of the study appear in the August 8 issue of The Journal of Biological Chemistry.
An international research team led by Université de Montréal medical professor Christopher Rudd, director of research in immunology and cell therapy at Maisonneuve-Rosemont Hospital Research Centre, has identified a key new mechanism that regulates the ability of T-cells of the immune system to react against foreign antigens and cancer.
The PETA International Science Consortium's nanotechnology expert will present a poster titled "A Tiered-Testing Strategy for Nanomaterial Hazard Assessment" at the Topical Scientific Workshop – Regulatory Challenges in Risk Assessment of Nanomaterials being organized by the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) on October 23 and 24 in Helsinki.
The mouse immune system develops antibodies capable of single-handedly neutralizing the SARS virus, researchers at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) report in the April 1 issue of the Journal of Virology, now available online. NIAID is part of the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
