Alarms that buzz, ring or light up when a child wets the bed are more effective at stopping bedwetting than medications like the drug commonly used to prevent urination, according to a new review of recent studies.
New research on autism has found, in a mouse model, that drug treatment at a young age can reverse social impairments. But the same intervention was not effective at an older age.
The Cleveland Plain Dealer "Ohioans who haven't been able to find affordable health insurance because of pre-existing conditions can get high-risk coverage as soon as Sept. 1. The state will receive $152 million in federal money to pay for the new program a product of the health-care reform bill President Barack Obama signed into law in March. That's enough to cover about 5,000 people, said Carly Glick, spokeswoman for the Ohio Department of Insurance."
The latest phase of the campaign aims to raise awareness of the potential dangers of trips and falls in the workplace and features some graphic and hard hitting posters. The posters, typically featuring alarming images of workers 'shattering' upon impact following a fall, also feature safety information targeted at reducing such accidents.
