GE Healthcare, a unit of General Electric Company announced today that it has completed the tender offer by GE's wholly owned subsidiary, Crane Merger Sub, Inc., for all outstanding shares of common and preferred stock of Clarient Inc., a leading player in the fast-growing molecular diagnostics sector. Clarient provides pathologists and oncologists with access to key diagnostic tests that shed light on the complex nature of various cancers.
NiKem Research is pleased to announce that it has received on March 29th 2010, from the Italian Ministry of Health (Decree N. 69/2010-B), the authorization to perform acute and sub-chronic toxicology studies (upto 28 days) in all rodent species for preliminary safety evaluation of novel chemical entities (NCEs). Toxicokinetic (TK) studies are also allowed to correlate plasma and/or organ exposure of NCEs (and metabolites) to tolerated doses in toxicology studies.

By inactivating a gene they previously discovered to be important in the laboratory, they were able to boost production of a healthy fetal form of hemoglobin in the mice, potentially compensating for the defective adult hemoglobin that causes red blood cells to "sickle" and obstruct blood flow.
In a literature review article published in the Journal of Community Hospital Internal Medicine Perspectives, authors from the US performed a thorough investigation of previous studies and case reports of SARS-CoV-2 reinfection. This review discusses the role of natural immunity, vaccines, and SARS-CoV-2 variants in reinfection.
