An international committee of experts has reviewed and recommended the funding of the Center for Thrombosis and Hemostasis at the Mainz University Medical Center for an additional five years. In accordance with this recommendation, the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research will be providing support of approximately EUR 25 million to the CTH within its Integrated Research and Treatment Centers (IFB) program.
Physicians that have to decide whether an illness is terminal think that "there are not valid and adequate criteria for certifying that an illness is terminal". This is the conclusion drawn from a pioneer study conducted at the University of Granada, and recently published in the International Journal of Clinical and Health Psychology (IJCHP).
People who perceive dementia symptoms as an illness feel more negative than those who see it as an inevitable part of getting older, a new study indicates.
