Overuse injuries - think muscle strains, tennis elbow, and rotator cuff tears - are a considerable problem in the United States, especially among young athletes.
NextGen Healthcare Information Systems, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Quality Systems, Inc. and a leading provider of healthcare information systems and connectivity solutions, today announced that Northeast Valley Health Corporation and Community Health Center Network have selected NextGen technology to support their Meaningful Use and business growth initiatives.
The Josep Carreras Leukaemia Research Institute, a public centre pertaining to the Generalitat de Catalunya's (Government of Catalonia) CERCA network, has created the OneChain Immunotherapeutics spin-off, the aim of which is to develop new immuno-oncological therapeutic tools with various preclinical candidates, based on CAR-T technology for different tumors, such as cortical T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (coT-ALL), a rare subtype of leukemia that mainly affects children, and which has a poor prognosis.
Use of bioprosthetic heart valves has dramatically increased (from 18% in 1991 to 59% in 2003), mainly in older patients with comorbidities. This is due to the increased risk of bleeding complications associated with lifelong use of anticoagulation for mechanical prostheses.
NOXXON Pharma AG (NOXXON), clinical-stage developer of L-RNA based scaffolds (SpiegelmersĀ®) that bind their targets conceptually similar to antibodies, announced today that the company was awarded a research grant from Germany's Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) under the ministry's small and medium enterprise innovation initiative ("KMU-Innovativ").
