With the New Year comes many resolutions, including resolving to exercise more and eat better. While many individuals understand that nutrition and exercise play an important role in helping to prevent diabetes, obesity, and cardiovascular disorders, not many may be aware that these two elements have a significant impact on one's vision as well. Dr. Sandy T. Feldman, a renowned ophthalmologist and corneal expert at Clearview Eye & Laser Center in San Diego, advises patients to examine their physical fitness and eating habits in order to achieve optimum vision.
An Italian study published in the current issue of Psychotherapy and Psychosomatics examines the relationship between cancer pain and inability to express feelings and the effects of treatment.
"Patients often experience a great deal of pain if their cancer spreads to the bone," explained Andre Konski, M.D., M.B.A., M.A., F.A.C.R., director of clinical research in the radiation oncology department at Fox Chase Cancer Center and lead author of the paper on the Radiation Therapy Oncology Group study (RTOG 97-14).
Oxford Gene Technology (OGT), provider of innovative genetics research and biomarker solutions to advance molecular medicine, will launch its new CytoSure™ Consortium Cancer +SNP array (4x180k) at the Cancer Cytogenomics Microarray Consortium (CCMC) and Cytogenomics Array Group (CAGdb) combined meeting in Chicago on the 5th- 7th August, booth 4.
