Even though colorectal cancer is one of the most preventable types of cancer, only 18 US states have enacted legislation requiring insurance providers to cover the cost of preventative screening. These findings from the 2004 Colorectal Cancer Legislation Report Card were released today by the Entertainment Industry Foundation's National Colorectal Cancer Research Alliance (EIF's NCCRA) and the American Gastroenterological Association (AGA).
When NASA's space shuttle Atlantis launches for the International Space Station on Nov. 16 it will carry a University of Colorado at Boulder butterfly experiment that will be monitored by thousands of K-12 students across the nation.
On June 24, 2016, at the 94th General Session & Exhibition of the International Association for Dental Research, researcher W. Peter Holbrook, University of Iceland, will present a study titled "Development of Drugs for Local Treatment of Oral Conditions." The IADR General Session is being held in conjunction with the 3rd Meeting of the IADR Asia Pacific Region and the 35th Annual Meeting of the IADR Korean Division.
About one-fourth to one-half of new cancer treatments that reach assessment in phase 3 randomized clinical trials are eventually proven successful, according to a report in the March 24 issue of Archives of Internal Medicine.
The EHEC crisis in Germany in 2011 proved that food brought in from other countries can potentially carry agents that cause life-threatening diseases.
