ArQule, Inc. today announced that the following presentations of clinical data for ARQ 197, a selective inhibitor of the c-Met receptor tyrosine kinase, will take place at the 2010 American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Annual Meeting, which will be held June 4-8, 2010 in Chicago, Illinois.
Most research on Lou Gehrig's disease therapeutics has been based on the assumption that its two forms (sporadic and hereditary) are similar in their underlying cause.
A study by the University of Liverpool has found that a decrease in smoking rapidly reduces mortality rates in individuals and entire populations within six months.
A critical shortage in the sperm available in IVF clinics has forced some of them to launch online advertising campaigns to encourage sperm donation. The campaign is targeting sports and finance websites which have a larger male readership. Ad tag lines like "you've got millions to spare, we only need one" and "a donation to us won't save a life; hopefully it will create one" are hoping to appeal to the generosity of the adult male.
The 2009 Monitoring the Future Survey released today by the National Institute of Drug Abuse shows that the nation continues to make gradual progress in reducing youth smoking, but declines have slowed significantly compared to the dramatic gains early in the decade. In especially troubling news, the survey also finds that smokeless tobacco use has increased among 10th and 12th graders in recent years, a period during which tobacco companies have introduced a slew of new smokeless tobacco products and significantly increased marketing for smokeless tobacco.
