A new study from the Swedish medical university Karolinska Institutet shows that infants with low concentrations of the stress-related hormone cortisol in their saliva develop fewer allergies than other infants. Hopefully this new knowledge will be useful in future allergy prevention.
Luminex Corporation and Exiqon A/S have announced the execution of a distribution agreement for the FlexmiR line of products co-developed by the companies in 2006.
EMD Serono, an affiliate of Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany, announced today that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has extended its review period for Cladribine Tablets as a therapy for relapsing forms of multiple sclerosis (MS) by three months to February 28, 2011.
The stress hormone cortisol strengthens memories of scary experiences. However, it is effective not only while the memory is being formed for the first time, but also later when people look back at an experience while the memory reconsolidates. This has been published by cognition psychologists from the Ruhr-Universität Bochum in the journal "Neuropsychopharmacology".
Ockham Development will partner with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of North Carolina chapter during 2014 to increase its commitment to cancer-directed philanthropy and collaborate with the Society to support the company's personal health and fitness goals.
