A protein known to play a role in development and the formation of organs is also an important factor in the control of obesity and diabetes, said researchers from Baylor College of Medicine in a report that appears in the current issue of the journal Cell Metabolism.
MorphoSys AG announced today the decision to repurchase its own shares on the stock market. Following approval by the Company's Supervisory Board, the Board of Management of MorphoSys AG has resolved to acquire up to 100,000 MorphoSys shares over the stock market during the time period from June 1, 2011 to June 30, 2011. The shares will be used to implement the Company's long-term incentive program for management.
Survival rates in heart failure patients with reduced levels of vitamin D are lower than in patients with normal levels. This is the finding of a major study carried out at University Medical Center, Groningen, Netherlands. Results also suggest that low levels of vitamin D are associated with activation of the Renin Angiotensin System (RAS - a pivotal regulatory system in heart failure) and an altered cytokine profile.
A study by researchers at Kaiser Permanente in Denver, Colorado evaluated the stability of thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH) in patients using synthetic medication versus those using desiccated thyroid products to treat hypothyroidism.
