A doctor at Scripps Green Hospital this week became the first in California to use a new drug-coated balloon to treat peripheral artery disease in a patient since regulatory approval of the IN.PACT Admiral device in January by the Food and Drug Administration.
Cellular Biomedicine Group, Inc. today announced the interim results of its Phase I/IIa clinical trial for human adipose-derived mesenchymal precursor cell (haMPC) therapy for Knee Osteoarthritis, which tests the safety and efficacy of intra-articular injections of autologous (patient's own) haMPCs in order to reduce inflammation and repair damaged joint cartilage.
Patients undergoing major vascular surgery procedures are at increased risk of stroke, leading to a high mortality rate and prolonged hospitalization, according to a study in the February issue of Anesthesia & Analgesia, official journal of the International Anesthesia Research Society (IARS).
