Smallpox is older than thought, according to results of a new technique reported in the Sept. 24 issue of the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences by researchers from Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC).
Pacific Biosciences of California, Inc., provider of Single Molecule Real Time sequencing products, today announced it has released a major upgrade to its PacBio RS system, referred to as "C2", including new chemistry, enhanced SMRT Cells and upgraded software, which together provide customers with significant performance increases for DNA sequencing.
One of the most controversial ideas in Washington right now is to turn Medicaid into a block grant program. ... Instead of an entitlement with open-ended funding, Medicaid would be converted into a grant program with set funding levels.
Researchers have identified cells in the brains of male rats that appear to control future food intake by preserving memories of past meals. The study, published in eNeuro, lends support to the idea of boosting meal memories as a strategy for managing overeating.
