Researchers from the University of Granada and the Research and Development of Functional Food Centre (CIDAF, for its initials in Spanish) along with two Italian universities, have developed a 'super-spaghetti' of enriched pasta, elaborated with functional flours, which contains more fibre and proteins than normal pasta and that helps reducing the risk of suffering cardiovascular diseases.
New research presented this week at ACR Convergence, the American College of Rheumatology's annual meeting, found that patients started on early, aggressive treatment with a combination of biologic and conventional disease modifying antirheumatic drugs (DMARDs) achieved clinically inactive disease in children with polyarticular juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) more frequently compared to other treatment plans 24 months after starting treatment.

Researchers at Mayo Clinic and the North Central Cancer Treatment Group recently completed a study testing methylphenidate in the treatment of cancer-related fatigue and found that, while it did not improve fatigue for a broad group of patients, the data did not rule out a benefit for those with stage III/IV cancer.
For years, proponents of high school athletics have pointed out the positive aspects of youth sports, such as increased bonds to school, self-esteem, achievement, competition, and fair play.
