Arrowhead Research Corporation, a targeted therapeutics company, today announced that, through its Calando Pharmaceuticals subsidiary, it has completed enrollment of a phase 1b clinical trial of CALAA-01, its RNAi therapeutic candidate targeting solid tumors. All patients participating in the trial have completed dosing with the exception of one patient who is still receiving treatment and will continue to be monitored.
A quick screening method has been used for the first time in a standard open laboratory to identify and test promising anti-Ebola drugs. This approach increases the possibility of finding new therapies faster.

Before the well was finally capped 87 days later on July 15, an estimated 4 million barrels of oil had gushed into the Gulf of Mexico, harming ecosystems, contaminating shorelines, and strangling the fishing and tourism industries.
With the holidays getting closer, Rite Aid is reminding people to get a flu shot so that the only thing they are spreading this season is good cheer. According to The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), it can take up to two weeks for flu shots to be effective and protect against the flu; those who get their flu shot now can help protect themselves by the time they sit down for Thanksgiving dinner.
