The University of Southern California Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center has partnered with Springbok Cares to provide a unique Virtual Reality (VR) initiative for patients in the Adolescent and Young Adult Cancer program at USC.
The University of New Hampshire will receive $1.8 million from the National Institutes of Health that will further molecular research to better understand drug interactions at the cellular level and help lead to the development of new targeted drugs to treat wide-spread metabolic, growth, neurological and visual disorders including diabetes and cancer.
Auxilium Pharmaceuticals, Inc., a specialty biopharmaceutical company, today announced financial results and operational highlights for the quarter ended September 30, 2009. For the third quarter of 2009, Auxilium reported net revenues of $42.1 million compared to net revenues of $32.6 million in the third quarter of 2008.
Drawing attention to one of the most complex health care bills recently passed by the U.S. Senate, the Society of Actuaries and American Academy of Actuaries today announced the findings from a new technical model and report on the estimated effect of the excise tax on high–cost employer health plans, also known as the "Cadillac Plan" tax. According to the report, while a tax on excess benefits could play a role in offsetting other costs of health reform, specific design elements of the tax may present some issues.
