Research has shown that surgery can provide important benefits for patients with epilepsy. Now a new study finds that it is also cost-effective.
Balancing high-throughput sequencing and related bioinformatics analysis between a research group's internal efforts and specialized service providers can both speed results to difficult biological questions and provide cost-effective access to the latest technology, says Eureka Genomics (EG). The company's unique capabilities and services and how they can help in "Finding the Right Balance" will be the topic of discussion at a "Java and Jive" session on Wednesday March 17, 8:15 am at the Now-Generation Sequencing conference being held at the Hilton San Diego Resort in San Diego, CA.
Stem cells collected from the patient's own bone marrow holds great interest as a potential therapy for osteoarthritis of the knee because of their ability to regenerate the damaged cartilage.
Napo Pharmaceuticals, Inc., which focuses on the development and commercialization of proprietary pharmaceuticals for the treatment of diarrheal diseases in the global marketplace in collaboration with local partners, is pleased to announce the formation of a Finder's Agreement with its licensee for crofelemer in China, Luye Pharma Group Ltd. (formerly Asiapharm).
At least 80 times in recent years, employees at San Diego County assisted living homes overlooked serious medical issues, gave the wrong medication or otherwise failed to properly care for vulnerable seniors. The problems arose as a result of the unique position held by the care homes, viewed by many families as health-care facilities even though they lack the required levels of training, supervision and oversight. The new cases were examined by U-T Watchdog as part of an ongoing partnership with the CHCF Center for Health Reporting at the University of Southern California (Jeff McDonald, 12/14).
