Bristol-Myers Squibb Company announced today that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has accepted, for filing and review, the company's submission of a biologic license application for belatacept, which is in ongoing phase III development for use in kidney transplantation.
Over the last decade, many drugs that have been pulled from the market due to toxicity were withdrawn because they affected women more than men.
Surgeons often take a blood vessel from your leg to graft onto your heart during a coronary bypass surgery. The practice can lead to scarring in many patients, which in turn can cause another heart attack. A new technique under development may help prevent this problem.
Patients diagnosed with the most common form of leukemia who also have high levels of an enzyme known to suppress the immune system are most likely to die early, researchers say.
