Researchers at Huntsman Cancer Institute at the University of Utah (U of U) discovered in laboratory studies that an experimental drug called selinexor may block a crucial survival pathway exploited by myelofibrosis cells.
A landmark study of the virosphere of the most populous animals – those without backbones such as insects, spiders and worms and that live around our houses – has uncovered 1445 viruses, revealing people have only scratched the surface of the world of viruses – but it is likely that only a few cause disease.
The illicit drug ecstasy has been redesigned by researchers at the University of WA for use in treatment of blood cancers.
