Inova Translational Medicine Institute and Personalis, Inc. today announced a partnership to advance genomic medicine for Inova's patient population.
Today, the FDA announced a final rule that provides a less-burdensome path to market for certain hardware and software products used with medical devices. The rule classifies these products, known as Medical Device Data Systems or MDDS, as Class I or low-risk devices, making them exempt from premarket review but still subject to quality standards.
During the release of its five-year plan to help drive down high maternal death and fertility rates in low-income countries, the World Bank on Tuesday said "that family planning and other reproductive health services have fallen off the radar of many governments, donors and aid agencies," Reuters reports.
Scientists tested a marker of the sugar levels in blood samples*(2) taken from almost 10,000 men and women aged between 45-79 and then checked their medical condition six years later.
The Advanced Wound Management division of Smith & Nephew, Inc., a subsidiary of Smith & Nephew plc., notes the decision returned today by a jury in the patent litigation brought by Kinetic Concepts Inc. before the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas. In that case, the jury found U.S. Patent Nos. 5,645,081 and 7,216,651 to be infringed by Smith & Nephew's RENASYS-F (Foam) Dressing Kit, which delivers Negative Pressure Wound Therapy to patients in need.
