Biological Psychiatry is proud to announce this week's publication of a special issue focusing on postmortem studies of psychosis. This special issue showcases the use of human brains postmortem to study psychiatric disorders, focusing on schizophrenia. The review articles highlight the benefits, achievements, problems, and perhaps most importantly, the future of postmortem research.
One in eight physicians have been inactive in the state where they are licensed for at least a year, and most states do not require them to undergo competency tests or retraining when they return to actively practicing medicine.
In a new study presented today at the 2012 Annual Meeting of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS), researchers completed a systematic review of three major orthopaedic journals - the Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery (American and British editions) and the Journal of Arthroplasty (JOA) - for all articles related to metal-on-metal total hip replacement between October 1999 and May 2011.
People who have recovered from COVID-19, and their close contacts, could hold the key to understanding how immunity to the disease develops, how long it lasts and what happens when immunity is lost.
