In a paper published in Biochemical Pharmacology, Saint Louis University researchers examined the way a nuclear receptor called REV-ERB is involved in regulating cholesterol metabolism.
Researchers in the UK have conducted a study suggesting that severe disease in children and young people admitted to hospital following infection with severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) is still rare and was no more common during the second wave of infections than the first.
On December 31, 2009, HVHC Inc. ("HVHC") consummated a refinancing transaction by entering into a credit agreement with a syndicate of lenders led by PNC Bank, National Association.
In an editorial to be published in The New England Journal of Medicine, researchers at Johns Hopkins offer their support for a study which shows that providing faster, more direct access to antibiotics for partners of newly infected patients reduces re-infection rates and spread of sexually transmitted diseases, such as gonorrhea and Chlamydia, compared to standard practice.
The suggestion by an Australian virologist that the new flu virus, H1N1 or swine flu, could have been the result of a laboratory accident has been dismissed by Dr. Keiji Fukuda, the deputy director general of the World Health Organization (WHO).
