Millennium: The Takeda Oncology Company today reported results from a randomized, international Phase III clinical trial comparing subcutaneous and intravenous administration of VELCADE (bortezomib) in patients with relapsed multiple myeloma. These data were presented at the 52nd annual meeting of the American Society of Hematology, held December 4-7 in Orlando, Florida.
Simple yet structured exercise can significantly improve kidney disease patients' quality of life as well as decrease their pain, according to a study appearing in an upcoming issue of the Clinical Journal of the American Society of Nephrology (CJASN).

Using the new model, the researchers also identified a gene that may be a promising target for a new anti-fungal drug.
In its continued health care fraud crackdown, the Obama administration announced Wednesday that charges were filed against 91 people in eight cities. These people are accused of bilking Medicare out of an estimated $300 million.
