Neoprobe Corporation, a diversified developer of innovative oncology surgical and diagnostic products, today announced that it has requested and been granted a Type B pre-IND meeting with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regarding its RIGS® technology Biologic License Application (BLA). The pre-IND meeting request is another step in Neoprobe's efforts to develop and commercialize the RIGS technology designed to enhance the surgical treatment of patients with solid tumor cancers.
The science of pharmacogenomics (PGx) studies how genetic variability affects an individual's response to a drug. Most patients metabolize a medication as expected. But some eliminate it from the body before it can do its work, while others process it slowly, causing it to build up in the body and risk an overdose.
Doctors can use either an artery in the arm or in the groin to safely perform percutaneous coronary intervention on patients presenting with a heart attack, according to research presented at the American College of Cardiology's 68th Annual Scientific Session.
