St. Jude Medical, Inc., a global medical device company, today announced regulatory and reimbursement approval from the Australian Therapeutic Goods Administration of its Brio™ deep brain stimulation system for treating the symptoms of Parkinson's disease.
Medical device company, Signostics, announced today it has clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to launch the SignosRT Bladder, the company's new hand-held bladder scanner.
B. Braun Medical Inc. was recently notified by its supplier, Scientific Protein Laboratories LLC (SPL), of a nationwide recall of a lot of Heparin Sodium USP Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API) sold to B. Braun because additional testing of retained crude heparin samples used by SPL to manufacture this single API lot indicated a trace amount of oversulfated chondroitin sulfate (OSCS) contaminant.
Harvest Technologies Corp. announced today results from the company sponsored 60-patient clinical trial conducted at Sri Ramachandra Medical Center in Chennai, India using the company's BMAC System to treat patients with non-reconstructable Critical Limb Ischemia (CLI). Sri Ramachandra Medical Center is a Harvard Medical international-associated institution based in Chennai, India and one of the largest private healthcare facilities in South Asia.
Results of a randomised trial in this week's issue of THE LANCET suggest that a more aggressive approach involving coronary angioplasty soon after anticlotting medical therapy is safe and could offer a better prognosis than more conservative treatment for patients who have had heart attack.
