Raptor Pharmaceuticals Corp. has announced positive results in its Phase IIa study of oral 4-methylpyrazole ("4-MP") in subjects with ALDH2 deficiency, or ethanol intolerance, as the initial development stage of its Convivia program.
Researchers at the Institute of Biomedical Research of Bellvitge, led by Dr. Eva Gonzalez-Suarez, have shown that pharmacological and genetic inhibition of signaling pathway RANK / RANKL leads to a significant reduction in recurrences and metastases in breast cancer in a mouse animal model.
Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease-the accumulation of liver fat in people who drink little or no alcohol-is increasingly common around the world, and in the United States, it affects between 30 and 40 percent of adults.
Domain Surgical, Inc., a leading developer of advanced thermal surgical technology, today announced that it has released a line of stout surgical tips for its FMwand Ferromagnetic Surgical System. As with all FMwand tools, the stout surgical tips simultaneously cut and coagulate tissue without passing electrical current into the patient, making them safe to use near delicate tissue structures.
A study recently published by researchers from the Ohio Musculoskeletal and Neurological Institute at the Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine, in collaboration with a colleague from outside Ohio University, finds new evidence to support the belief that the nervous system plays an important role in age-related weakness.
