The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has issued a final rule for Patient Safety Organizations (PSOs).
Mayo Clinic researchers found that dopamine agonists used in treating Parkinson's disease result in impulse control disorders in as many as 22 percent of patients.

As the State of Florida grapples with a budget shortfall that is crippling its AIDS Drug Assistance Program and forcing the state to place more than 1,300 low-income Floridians on waiting lists to access lifesaving AIDS medications, AIDS Healthcare Foundation has proposed an innovative solution to state health officials and seven leading AIDS drug companies that would create a public/private partnership to resolve the drug crisis and get vulnerable Florida AIDS patients on to lifesaving antiretroviral treatment.
There has been an increase in tram accidents and injuries, despite new safety measures. In a Melbourne-based study, conducted by a group of emergency doctors, 1,769 cases of trauma that occurred in tram accidents between 2001 and 2008 were looked into.
