Scientists at the Johns Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center in Baltimore say a simple mouth rinse may provide a new and easy way to screen for head and neck cancers in people who are at high risk for such diseases.
In an amusing but amazing turnaround, it seems the most foul-smelling compound on earth, called putrescine, could help relieve chronic inflammation, most importantly in the arterial thickening called atherosclerosis. This discovery is reported in the journal Cell Metabolism in January 2020.
Thyroid hormone deficiencies in early pregnancy can cause locomotor underdevelopment in the child, according to research from the Swedish medical university Karolinska Institutet.
