Navigenics, a leading personal genomics company, announced today that The New England Journal of Medicine has published findings from the Scripps Genomic Health Initiative, a research study sponsored by Scripps Translational Science Institute to assess the behavioral impact of personal genetic testing.
In a large prospective study published online in the British Journal of Cancer, researchers looked at the association between nut consumption and risk of pancreatic cancer among 75,680 women in the Nurses' Health Study, with no previous history of cancer.
The American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy has recognized 30 endoscopy units as part of its program specifically dedicated to promoting quality in endoscopy, in all settings where it is practiced in the United States.
Researchers from the Institute of Neurosciences of the University of Barcelona and the August Pi i Sunyer Biomedical Research Institute described a mechanism, the increase of proteinaceous synthesis, which takes part in the degeneration of the type of neurons that are affected in Huntington's disease, a genetic neurodegenerative disease.
