Manchester midwives are to lead a major research project to improve midwifery services for women and babies in six East African countries.
A new study from American Cancer Society researchers finds use of 30 tablets a month or more of acetaminophen for five or more years was associated with an estimated 38% lower risk of prostate cancer. The study appears in Cancer Epidemiology, Biomarkers and Prevention and is one of only two studies of prostate cancer to date that have examined the association with acetaminophen use that was both long-term and regular.
Published online today in Nature, a paper authored by over 200 members of the International Cancer Genome Consortium describes the beginnings of a Brave New World, a new era of personalised medicine for cancer patients.
In a national study of more than one thousand preschool-age children, those who were exposed to more than two hours of television per day were more likely to be overweight at ages 36 and 54 months than those who were exposed to less than two hours of television per day,
