Rescue breathing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) had superior neurological outcomes compared with compression-only CPR or no CPR at all in infants, children and adolescents, according to a new analysis published today in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology.
PerkinElmer, Inc., a global leader focused on the health and safety of people and the environment, today announced the expansion of its "No Wash" ALPHA Technology portfolio. The Company is introducing 28 new highly sensitive cell signaling pathway and biomarker research assay kits, that provide researchers with rich data to help advance the study of diseases including cancer, inflammatory and neurodegenerative disorders.
"Congress has an historic opportunity to join with the American College of Physicians (ACP), other physician organizations and employers to redesign Medicare payment policies to provide incentives for patient-centered care," ACP told the House Committee on Ways and Means Subcommittee on Health in a written statement.
Some cancer cells have a trick up their sleeve to avoid cell death: boosting maintenance of telomeres, the protective "end caps" on chromosomes, and a research team led by Jackson Laboratory Professor Roel Verhaak reports in Nature Genetics on a newly discovered telomere maintenance mechanism.
