With the start of the school year just around the corner, it is easy to overlook one of the most important things on any back-to-school checklist -; making sure your child is vaccinated. Moderate physical activity is associated with a greater than 50% reduction in cardiovascular death in over-65s, according to research presented at ESC Congress 2016 today. The 12 year study in nearly 2500 adults aged 65 to 74 years found that moderate physical activity reduced the risk of an acute cardiovascular event by more than 30%. High levels of physical activity led to greater risk reductions.
Suffering from injuries to his brain, nerves, and tendons for over four years, 45-year-old John Fratti of Hummelstown, PA, has taken on the Food and Drug Administration with good results. Since taking Johnson & Johnson's antibiotic Levaquin for an infection he has had many diagnostic studies on his brain and body that show considerable damage. Healthy and athletic at 41 years of age, he now takes multiple prescription pain medications for his injuries.
Researchers from Boston University School of Medicine (BUSM) have found that among HIV-infected adults with alcohol problems, measuring their carbohydrate-deficient transferrin (CDT) biomarker was a poor and inaccurate method for detecting unhealthy drinking.
