Studies have shown that a new patient and caregiver centered model of innovative, coordinated brain care for older adults improves health outcomes and quality of care for those with cognitive impairment.
A series of studies published in the September Journal of Nuclear Medicine (JNM) show that molecular imaging plays a critical role in the evaluation and treatment planning for a broad spectrum of cancers, including thyroid cancer and lymphoma.
Pancreatic cancer is one of the deadliest cancers. Even with aggressive treatment, the prognosis is poor, with various factors stacking the odds against successful treatment: early detection is uncommon, it tends to spread quickly and recurrence is likely. However, several newer approaches show promise in increasing the response rate to pancreatic cancer treatment.
A new implantable medical device, developed in collaboration with Mayo Clinic researchers, shows promise as a reversible and less extreme alternative to existing bariatric surgeries, according to findings published in the current issue of the journal Surgery.
