The American Public Health Association yesterday joined a dozen leading health organizations in urging the U.S. Senate to oppose a resolution introduced by Sen. Lisa Murkowski to overturn or block the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's finding for six greenhouse gases that contribute to climate change.
Using sulfonylureas as a first-line treatment for diabetes is associated with an increased risk for cardiovascular disease events or death compared with the use of metformin, research shows.
Several cancer tumors grow through immunosuppression; that is, they manipulate biological systems in their microenvironments and signal to a specific set of immune cells-those that clear out aberrant cells-to stop acting.
