Industrial biotech companies EUCODIS Bioscience and evocatal today announced the formation of an alliance to jointly market the companies' industrial enzyme products, including alcohol dehydrogenases, lipases, and other enzymes.
A team of researchers led by Dr. Michel Cayouette at the IRCM made an important discovery, published online yesterday by the scientific journal Developmental Cell, that could better explain some inherited forms of hearing loss in humans. The Montr-al scientists identified a group of proteins crucial for shaping the cellular organ responsible for detecting sounds.
A minimally invasive procedure to treat tendonitis in the rotator cuff of the shoulder provides immediate symptom relief to the patient, according to a study published in the July issue of Radiology. The study found that ultrasound-guided nonsurgical therapy significantly reduces pain from calcific tendonitis of the rotator cuff and restores lasting mobility after treatment.
