According to new reports from The Australian Institute of Criminology Research jurors are often not confident enough in their knowledge of DNA based evidence and this may often go against the accused as they may return with the guilty verdict. This is known as "the white coat syndrome" meaning laymen are often overwhelmed by the presence of an expert and as jurors may place more importance to these DNA evidence than necessary.
An international consortium co-led by researchers at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center and the QIMR Berghofer Medical Research Institute in Australia has identified four genetic variants associated with an increased risk of esophageal cancer and its precursor, a condition called Barrett's esophagus.
Adding once-daily lixisenatide to basal insulin treatment is effective at improving glycemic control in Asian patients with Type 2 diabetes, show study findings.
Cleveland Medical Devices has announced that it has been awarded $2.3 M in NIH SBIR Phase II Continuation funding from the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS).
