A DEVICE, developed through a collaboration by a team at the University of Huddersfield and a local charity, is set to improve the quality of care for child cancer patients. Medical practitioners and a dedicated charity have signalled that they are highly impressed by the design for a special harness, that safely and comfortably, contains the tubing inserted into the chests of youngsters during treatment.

After conducting a review of the two choices California officials are considering for optional Medi-Cal expansion, the state Legislative Analyst's Office yesterday strongly recommended the state-based option, rather than a county-based plan.
In a five-page policy paper issued Wednesday, the seniors lobby detailed how the proposal to transform the state-federal health care program for the poor into a block grant would, among other things, have an especially negative impact on low-income elderly people and people who depend on long-term care services.
