Thirumalini Vaithianathan, PhD, assistant professor in the Department of Pharmacology, Addiction Science, and Toxicology at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, has spent a decade studying molecular signaling involved in vision. She has just received $1.9 million from the National Eye Institute for her project titled, "Dynamics of calcium signals control neurotransmitter release in retinal ribbon Synapses".
A new study that appeared in the Journal of Family Psychology finds that couples who wait until exchanging vows to have sex are "are happier with the quality of sex" and enjoy a "stable, happier marriage". The team of researchers assessed 2,035 married couples in an online questionnaire based study called ‘RELATE'.
A new award from the CHDI Foundation will advance promising research that aims to slow the progression of Huntington's disease.
