Four young scientists have received postdoctoral fellowships from the National Space Biomedical Research Institute (NSBRI). Through this two-year program, they conduct research with the eventual aim of protecting astronaut health during long-duration spaceflights.
Dartmouth-Hitchcock Norris Cotton Cancer Center (NCCC) researchers found that longer withdrawal times during a colonoscopy correlates with a higher rate of polyp detection. The study was recently published online in in the American Journal of Gastroenterology.
Cooling unconscious cardiac arrest survivors can increase survival and has a cost effectiveness comparable to other widely accepted treatments in modern health care, researchers report in Circulation: Cardiovascular Quality and Outcomes.
