Research in Public Library of Science (PLoS) Pathogens appears to solve a long standing medical mystery by identifying a viral protein, VP16, as the molecular key that prompts herpes simplex virus (HSV) to exit latency and cause recurrent disease.
A new study has found that using human papillomavirus (HPV) DNA testing to determine who should receive a cervical examination called colposcopy is a cost-effective management strategy for women with equivocal Pap test results known as ASCUS (atypical squamous cells of undetermined significance).
As the COVID-19 pandemic has progressed, it has become clear that many survivors -; even those who had mild cases -; continue to manage a variety of health problems long after the initial infection should have resolved.
Clorox Healthcare will be among the stakeholders participating in a White House Forum tomorrow in support of ongoing public and private efforts to reduce healthcare-associated infections (HAIs), many of which are caused by multidrug-resistant organisms (MDROs).
