Researchers of the Biomedical Neuro-engineering group of the Universidad Miguel Hernández of Elche, Spain, have developed a worldwide pioneering robotic exoskeleton which, attached to a robotic wheelchair, helps people with varying degrees of disability carry out daily activities on their own, including eating, drinking or washing.
Tsuruta et al. find that a lipid kinase directs a voltage-gated calcium channel's degradation to save neurons from a lethal dose of overexcitement. The study appears in the October 19, 2009 issue of the Journal of Cell Biology (www.jcb.org).
A study conducted in the UK has examined attitudes towards vaccination protecting against COVID-19 and highlighted some of the main drivers of willingness or unwillingness to be immunized.
The National Business Group On Health is advocating this position as a way to reduce flu risk for health care workers and patients.
