Researchers in the United States have developed adenovirus vectors that may be more effective at generating immune responses against severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) than those used in the vaccines that are currently being rolled out to help combat the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.
Virginia Premier Health Plan and Envision Pharmaceutical Services, Inc., today announced a multi-year agreement that establishes Envision as the exclusive provider of pharmacy benefit management (PBM) services for Virginia Premier's 150,000 managed Medicaid members starting 7/1/2012. The agreement is based on the pillars of pass-through pricing, transparency and service that will allow Virginia Premier unprecedented plan access and customization while achieving lower net costs.
Cannabinoids, a class of prescription pills that contain synthetically-made chemicals found in marijuana, are associated with a 64 per cent increase in death among older adults with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), according to the first published data on the impact of cannabinoids on the respiratory health of individuals with the lung disease.
Noting November 25 was the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, Ann-Marie Wilson, founder and director of 28 Too Many, writes in the Huffington Post U.K.'s "Politics" blog, "The statistics for violence against women and girls are truly shocking. ... Not only do millions suffer each year but many are victims of repeated and sustained violence."
