In the first large-scale representative and gender- and age-sensitive study on sexual violence in Belgium, called "UN-MENAMAIS" '(Understanding the Mechanisms, Nature, Magnitude and Impact of Sexual Violence in Belgium), experts from Ghent University, the University of Liège, and the National Institute for Criminology and Criminalistics found that two third of the Belgian population experienced sexual violence during their life.
NovaBay Pharmaceuticals, Inc., a clinical stage biotechnology company developing its first-in-class, anti-infective Aganocide compounds for the local non-systemic treatment and prevention of antibiotic-resistant infections, today provided an update on its Phase 2 clinical trial for the use of its lead compound, NVC-422, to prevent urinary catheter blockage and encrustation which is often a contributing factor to urinary tract infections in chronically catheterized patients.
A new report from the National Cancer Institute and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention concluded that nearly 12 million people in the U.S. have survived a bout with this disease.
