A new study revealed that number of children diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity disorder or ADHD has risen sharply over the last decade.
In recent years, new strains of bacteria have emerged that resist even the most powerful antibiotics. Each year, these superbugs, including drug-resistant forms of tuberculosis and staphylococcus, infect more than 2 million people nationwide, and kill at least 23,000. Despite the urgent need for new treatments, scientists have discovered very few new classes of antibiotics in the past decade.
The brain adds new cells during puberty to help navigate the complex social world of adulthood, two Michigan State University neuroscientists report in the current issue of the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.
For patients with aggressive types of leukemia and other blood cancers, quickly identifying and starting the right treatment can make all the difference.
While COVID-19 vaccines are available to all adults in England, new research suggests a disproportionate number of people who have not gotten the vaccine work in public-facing jobs. In addition, people who work from home were more likely to be vaccinated, suggesting ‘work from policies' are limited in their effectiveness in preventing hospitalizations and COVID-19 deaths.
