In support of Pain Awareness Month, the Alliance for Balanced Pain Management (AfBPM) today affirmed the need to balance access to appropriate pain management with responsible medicine use, and highlighted a new access survey for people with or affected by acute or chronic pain.
CB1 is well-established for relieving pain and nausea, elevating mood and stimulating appetite by serving as a docking station for the cannabinoid group of signaling molecules. It now may serve as a new path for cancer prevention or treatment.
Though the global community has "made incredible inroads" on the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), "the majority of developing countries are still expected to fall short of the MDG targets for reducing maternal and child mortality by 2015," Carole Presern, director of the Partnership for Maternal, Newborn & Child Health (PMNCH), writes in the Huffington Post's "Global Motherhood" blog.
Biologists have discovered how an outer shield over T-type channels change the electrochemical signaling of heart and brain cells. Understanding how these shields work will help researchers eventually develop a new class of drugs for treating epilepsy, cardiovascular disease and cancer.
Urovalve announced today that the Company has filed a patent to protect its new product offering in development that facilitates insertion of catheters, such as a Foley catheter.
