A collaboration of European scientists has uncovered new insight into the most common chromosomal microdeletion syndrome in humans.
Although the chances of surviving advanced melanoma aren't very good with current therapies, some patients can live for years with cancer that has spread beyond the skin to other organs. Now it may be possible to identify which patients are more likely to survive by analyzing the activity of hundreds of genes involved in the immune response and gene proliferation, according to researchers at NYU Langone Medical Center.
The HairDX Genetic Test for Hair Loss, the world's first genetic baldness (Androgenetic Alopecia) test, is now available as a CE Marked product under the European In Vitro Diagnostic Directive.
Type 1 diabetes is not predominantly a 'disease of childhood' as previously believed, but is similarly prevalent in adults, new research published in the Lancet Diabetes & Endocrinology shows.
