The National Neuroscience Institute and Nanyang Technological University, Singapore are collaborating to develop innovative technologies to better diagnose and treat patients with neurological conditions such as Parkinson's disease and brain injuries.
Encapsulating magnetic iron oxide nanoparticles within a silica shell has yielded a new multifunctional nanoparticle that has the potential to image, target, and treat tumors with water-insoluble anticancer drugs. A report of this work appears in the journal ACS Nano.
Antiretroviral therapy (ART) intramuscularly administered may have the same effectiveness as current oral treatments.
