Childhood obesity is a rapidly growing epidemic, but questions remain as to who can best prevent it - the child? The parents? Society? Hear a panel of ethicists, social scientists, and obesity specialists as they discuss whether a societal or public health approach is the most effective method for obesity prevention at the 2010 Pediatric Academic Societies meeting in Vancouver.
MANY patients whose lung cancer is diagnosed as an emergency in hospital reported difficulties in previously seeing their GP, according to research presented at the National Cancer Research Institute (NCRI) Cancer Conference in Liverpool today (Tuesday).
Years of research have shown that impulsivity in childhood is among the individual vulnerabilities leading to substance abuse, delinquency, as well as aggressive and antisocial behavior in adolescence and adulthood.
There was a time, not so long ago, when mothers were proud of their bonnie babies, who appeared to gain weight easily, and it was almost thought to be a sign of a healthy, thriving babe and the result of good maternal care and attention
