Government officials in Britain say a dead swan found in Cellardyke, Scotland, has a strain of the H5 bird flu virus.
Nixle, a secure community information tool, which has been rapidly adopted by over 1,800 law enforcement agencies across the country, is now offering its free technology to hospitals and schools to provide critical real-time alerts on the H1N1 Flu.
The CDC's National Center for Health Statistics has released data for births in 2016 and has come up with some heartening trends. Teenage girls giving birth for example has dropped by 67% in 1997. The reports show that birth rates among teenagers between 15 and 19 years have declined by 51% since 2007. The data comes from analysis of majority (99.96%) of births as of February 16, 2017. The report published last Friday shows that since the year before teenage girls giving birth has dropped by 9%.
Women who plan on becoming pregnant are told they need enough of the nutrient folate to ensure proper neurodevelopment of their babies, but new research from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health suggests there could be serious risks in having far too much of the same nutrient.
