Aduro BioTech, a clinical-stage immunotherapy company, is pleased to announce the presentation of the CRS-207 Phase 1 study at the AACR Special Conference on Tumor Immunology in Miami, Florida by the Principal Investigator, Dr. Dung Le of the Johns Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center. Dr. Le reported that CRS-207 intravenous administration was well tolerated in subjects with advanced, treatment-refractory cancers. Dr. Le also reported evidence of immune activation and that 6 out of 17 end-stage cancer patients lived 15 months or longer.
Cornell researchers have taken a major step toward answering a key question in cancer research: Why is testicular cancer so responsive to chemotherapy, even after it metastasizes?
The project was considered a pioneering effort when it started in 2004, but Jan Emerson-Shea, a spokesperson for the California Hospital Association, says the report cards have outlived their usefulness. "Today there are numerous places consumers can get information on the quality of care delivered by hospitals," Emerson-Shea says.
Children's Hospital & Research Center Oakland is hosting the 2nd annual international Advanced Workshop on Sickle Cell Disease October 28 and 29. This impressive conference will bring together hematologists from Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Mexico, Venezuela, Brazil, and beyond, and the premier sickle cell experts from the United States for a dialogue on research, comprehensive care, and new treatments and therapies.
