American Dental Partners, Inc. announced today that it has entered into an agreement to acquire certain non-clinical assets of Christie Dental Practice Group, P.L. and Christie Dental Partners, Inc. and enter into a 40-year service agreement with Christie Dental Practice Group, P.L.
Jennifer Matton is going to college for the third time, no easy thing with a job, church groups and four children with activities from lacrosse to Boy Scouts. She always planned to return to school, but as it turned out, she had little choice: her career depended on it. Ms. Matton, a nurse, works at Abington Memorial Hospital, one of hundreds around the country that have started to require that their nurses have at least a bachelor's degree in nursing.
A UC Irvine study has found that a gene called TOMM40 appears twice as often in people with Alzheimer's disease than in those without it. Alzheimer's, for which there is no cure, is the leading cause of elderly dementia.
Hip-implant surgery is commonplace, but a higher than expected number of failures began to surface in patients who had received an implanted device manufactured by a division of J&J. According to company statistics, about one in eight implant patients requires a painful and expensive second procedure called a "revision surgery."
